I enjoyed a very relaxing weekend break in this uncomplicated but perfectly adequate hotel. The room and services met all of my needs and expectations in full, in particular the bed was very comfortable - I slept like a log! The hotel is perfectly positioned in a quiet location with lively bars and cafes close by, just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Bordeaux over the beautiful Pont De Pierre. Trams, buses and ferry services are available within 400 metre for those with short legs. All in all, a very satisfactory stay and in my opinion extremely good value for money. This hotel will be my first choice for my next visit to Bordeaux. Easy to find, easy to park at, quiet (at least when we stayed there.) The room was functional, standard, no frills, obviously no character, of a reasonable size, though one couldn't swing many cats in it. There was a cabin style bathroom of reasonable proportions. There were not enough towels so we helped ourselves to a couple more from a trolley in the stair well. The bed was a queen-size, with good, firm bedding. We slept very well. No noise in the corridors. There was only one chair in the room; an extra one would have been welcome. Breakfast was fairly good, varied, and cheaper than other places. Our stay for two nights amounted to 155 euros, with breakfast. This rate was with the (free) Accor hotels card, which also means breakfast is cheaper. It's a no-brainer, as it is free and gives a reduction. Very good staff at reception, friendly, competent and unobtrusive. The hotel is very well situated just across the Pont de Pierre from Bordeaux city centre. It takes under ten minutes to walk across from the hotel. We walked everywhere, as Bordeaux is not that big a city, but without doubt one of France's most beautiful and well worth a stay. A pity it was freezing. Our hotel has responded to the review Monsieur Nous vous remercions pour vos commentaires suite à votre séjour à ibis Bordeaux Centre Bastide. We stayed a couple of nights in this hotel as we explored Bordeaux. Our room was on the front of the hotel and whilst we might have expected some noise, we found it very quiet and comfortable. We took the tram (a short walk from the hotel) to the centre on the first day but walked across the bridge on the second (about 15 minutes at a reasonable pace). When we arrived, we missed the entrance to the car park the first time around (there is a sign for the Ibis on the wall by the Carrefour Express but we didn't think it very obvious). We found all the staff were very pleasant and helpful during our stay and there was plenty on offer for the buffet breakfast. The location was perfect for us - quiet but not too far from the centre of town which made for a great visit to Bordeaux. This is a very new Ibis. You'll find really nice design in the lobby/bar/breakfast area and, as ever, very good use of the space in your room which isn't huge but has everything you need. Ibis are making a feature of their new beds and rightly so-the bed comes with a base (divan?), mattress and a 'topper' (another futon type mattress like you find in Ikea!). The result is the best night's sleep I've had in a hotel in many a year. Nice welcome from a lovely lady on reception. Good location (nb it's 300m walk to the bridge and the tram which will take you quickly into the centre. The bridge is almost 500m long so a walk to 'town' is good exercise and you get the view as a bonus!) As other reviewers have said there's a Carrefour next door for essentials, cold drinks, snacks and, bless them, chilled champagne. The new botanical gardens are a short walk up the road and a nice spot to enjoy an impromptu pic-nic. Niggles?- well, they're very quick to clear up breakfast, even on a Sunday, so don't count on a leisurely start but hey, that's nit picking. This is a lovely, spotlessly clean, modern hotel with nice staff at a price that won't break the bank, and it's only a few minutes away from the best of what Bordeaux has to offer. Ibis certainly can take credit for having your sleep quality near or at the top of their list. The beds were fantastic, the best we had slept in and still the best. We had stayed at a previous Ibis in Saint Malo and had similar beds. The difference comes down to the pillows. Our previous room had the right combination with softer pillows. This was really the only down side to this room, the room was a good size, very good shower and good sound proofing. The location was good too with a supermarket next door and really only a short ride on the tram or walk across the bridge to the city centre. Grab the all day pass for moving around, it is really good value. Terrible receptionist that was challenging to overcharge us since we disagree with the amount paid (politely) from what we have from our booking voucher vs. All she answered was 'NO' 'NO' 'NO' when we were trying to explain to her our booking voucher (politely & calmly) as if to say i don't care what you have on your voucher, my computer say this hence I'm charging you this amount. She did not care to listen & threaten to charge us either way without trying to understand. When we said that if she was so un-reasonable to say NO then we are not paying, then threatened to charge us anyway whether we liked it or not. The behaviour was so absurd and beyond comprehension that we asked her to why not charge whatever amount she want on there, then she realised what she said was not funny any more and now carry a big consequences. Finally we had to rush to the airport we gave up arguing with her and ask her to charge what she thought was correct and we will dispute with IBIS, Accor and make a big complaint against her, She then said she will check with her manager and come back to us. Then it was half an hour of arguing and defending ourselves for her unwilling to look at & understand why the different between Our booking voucher & her receipt. Eventually an hour later she checked with her manager and we were able to charge the correct amount that was based on our booking voucher but the experience was so horrible and distasteful that is left in us. Overall it was the worst experience we have endured on our 7 different hotel stay in IBIS (Style, Budget, Novotel) from 18-25Nov13. Horrible attitude, rude towards customer, uneducated,un-civilised, threatening & aggressive behaviour: name: Aurélie / date of experience: 23nov13 / IBIS BORDEUX I hope someone will rectify the issue and come back to me with a respond, I'm sure this is not the IBIS experience you are trying to portray nor it's on your promise card (15min to solve any problem otherwise you will have the room FOC) Best, IBIS repeated customer. • Lowest prices found over the following seven days. With the abundance of things that need to be done, but time remaining a constant in this equation, there’s a high chance you forget about less important, or even top-priority activities. Your memory can’t always be relied on, but applications like Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock help you keep your head clear, and alert you of any upcoming events and tasks. Store alarms in different groups As far as visuals are concerned, the application stores all it has to offer in a classic window design, with small buttons, but an intuitive overall design. Even so, you might feel a little overwhelmed at first, because of the abundance of options and functions, which may initially seem odd for an alarm application. However, all functions perfectly blend together, adding a lot to the application’s practicality. For instance, the main window alone is fitted with different sections to show a calendar, day table for configured alarms, and two additional panels to easily navigate through groups, and items which are inside. Thorough alert customization options Adding a new alarm brings up a creation window, with various time, and alert options. A dame needs to be added, with the requirement to include it in either a new or existing group. Alarms can be set to one time, or recurred, and depending on your selection time options change accordingly. You can include a message to be displayed, and even enable snooze for a bit more time. Alerts are an important part of an alarm, and the application treats them as such. Besides general, and date format options, alerts benefit from a variety of customization options. A default sound can be picked, but even a secondary one to show up after a specific idle time, or even configured to show up again on next system startup if no action was taken the first time. In conclusion Bottom line is that time seems to be shrinking with each passing day, but it’s only the ever-growing diversity of activities that give this impression. Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock proves to be a powerful companion in managing your time, with an impressive variety of configuration options and alerts, which, as overwhelming as they may initially seem, are all perfectly connected, and sure not to disappoint.
