Click on photo to enlarge Washington has only one native crayfish species, the signal crayfish ( Pacifasticus leniusculus). It is fairly easily identified by its uniform brownish coloration. Crayfish are prized culinary treats in Europe, particularly France and Sweden. They also enjoy some popularity in this country. Demand is high enough to support a number of “crayfish farms” in Louisiana, where large numbers are raised as annual crops in specially constructed ponds. Most of these are consumed domestically, but some are exported. Our West Coast species is generally larger than the Louisiana and European crayfish and according to some connoisseurs, is even tastier, but it has never been commercially cultured. Wild stocks have been harvested for many years from the rivers of Oregon and to a lesser extent, from the lakes of Washington. Let’s Get Names Straight. What is the Correct Name? Even crawdab. Take your pick. These common names are equally acceptable and do not refer to different species, although there are in fact hundreds, but rather reflect regional differences in the speakers. The term “crayfish” probably arose from misunderstanding of an old word crevis, which is related to the German Krebs, or “crab.” English speakers apparently heard the last syllable as “fish” and went from there. The scientific name for the species we have in Washington is Pacifastacus leniusculus, sometimes called the signal crayfish. Except where otherwise noted, when “crayfish” is used in this pamphlet it means P. Keep in mind, however, that the crayfish in other parts of the country or world are probably not the same species and may have quite different habits. For instance, what is true of the Louisiana commercial species Procambarus clarkii may not be true of our native crayfish. What Kind of Animal Is the Crayfish? Its just about what it seems—a small freshwater version of the lobster. Technically it is a decapod crustacean, related to lobsters, shrimps and crabs. Leniusculus is large as crayfish go, reaching the minimum legal size of 3 ¼ inches in about three years, but often growing to 6 inches or more in 5 or 6 years. Crayfish prefer fresh animal food if they can get it, but they also eat a variety of aquatic plants. People think of them as scavengers because they are not very good at chasing down live prey. In fact, crayfish seem to prefer fresh food to decaying matter. Their diet may change considerably as they pass from the juvenile to the adult stage. This may help explain why juveniles rarely enter traps. Crayfish themselves serve as meals not only to humans but to a number of birds, fish and mammals as well. Leniusculus mates in the fall, and the females extrude from 100 to 300 eggs shortly thereafter. The eggs or “berries” remain attached to the underside of the female through the winter and hatch in late spring. The young crayfish remain as passengers on the mother for several weeks, molting twice before finally venturing out permanently on their own. In summer, a typical crayfish lake will contain immature males and females from the previous year which have not yet mated, adult males, adult females which have recently shed their young, and many newly-hatched juveniles. A few of the earliest born juveniles may grow enough to mate the same fall, but the majority are not able to reproduce until the following fall, when they are 17 or 18 months old. At this age, they are generally still below the minimum legal size. Females may spawn twice or more in a lifetime. Our native species is considerably larger at full size than the species grown commercially in Louisiana, but does not grow nearly as fast. Louisiana crayfish farmers have a marketable crop within one year. Our species normally requires at least three years to grow to the minimum 3 ¼ inch legal size for harvest, by which time most have had a chance to reproduce. Different age groups prefer different habitat—the juveniles favoring shallow, weedy areas where they can find protection from predators (and each other, since they are cannibalistic), and the large adults favoring deeper areas, perhaps to avoid birds and land mammals. Recreational Fisheries Species Identification It is important you can distinguish the difference between our ONE native crayfish and nonnative species that have invaded our waters. Our native crayfish ( Pacifasticus leniusculus) has a uniform brown coloration, white or light coloration at the claw joint, and a smooth surface on the claws and carapace (head and back) compared to the nonnatives. The nonnatives have pronounced bumps on their claws. If you cannot tell the difference, apply the native crayfish regulations to your catch. Our native crayfish may be threatened by nonnative crayfish, it is important not to take any actions that may endanger the status of our native crayfish. For more information on native vs. Nonnative identification see: • • Fishing for Crayfish When: Fishing is prohibited during the winter months to protect the population’s reproductive capacity. Females normally carry eggs from late fall to the spring. Check the for current season dates. Where: All waters of the state. Crayfish are found in lakes, streams and rivers. Gear: One star trap, one ring net or one pot is considered one unit of gear. Up to five units of gear/person may be used to collect crayfish. General crab and shrimp gear rules (see the current ) apply. Unlike crab and shrimp, crayfish pots have no mesh size or buoy color requirements. Many crayfish pot designs can be found online, and sporting good stores usually carry them. Some people just use a standard minnow trap with an enlarged opening. There are lots of options out there – just be sure you follow WDFW regulations. How: The best time to catch crayfish is at night. Fresh fish parts make good bait, but even dog food will work. Crayfish usually are found in areas where they can seek cover. Rock piles, boulders, weedy spots may all harbor crayfish.

Availability The fdisk command is an that is available in the below Microsoft operating systems. With MS-DOS 3.3x and below fdisk.com was used as the external file. MS-DOS 4.x and later including versions of Windows that support the command use fdisk.exe as the external file. Tip: Fdisk syntax Configures a hard disk for use with MS-DOS. FDISK [/STATUS] /X /STATUS Displays partition information. /X Ignores extended disk-access support (will not use support). Use this switch if you receive one of the below symptoms. Unable to access a drive from DOS versions prior to 7. Disk access messages. Stack overflow messages. High amounts of data corruption. Extra drive letters Secret fdisk switches Disclaimer: Below is a listing of secret or undocumented MS-DOS fdisk commands and switches. Use these commands at your risk. Command Information FDISK /MBR Command used to rewrite the Master Boot Record.. FDISK /CMBR Recreates the on specified disk. Performs the same functions as FDISK /MBR except can be used on other disk drives. FDISK 1/PRI:100 Creates a 100 partition on the. FDISK 1/EXT:500 Creates a 500 MB meg extended DOS partition on the hard drive. FDISK 1/LOG:250 Creates a 250 MB logical drives on the hard drive. FDISK /Q Prevents fdisk from booting the system automatically after exiting fdisk. FDISK /STATUS Shows you the current status of your hard drives. FDISK /ACTOK Makes FDISK not check the disk integrity allowing the drives to be created faster. FDISK /FPRMT Prevent the prompt for FAT32 support and allows FDISK to be forced into using on drives smaller than 540 MB. By default, FDISK does not use FAT32 on any drive smaller than 540 MB. Finally this command can only be used with FDISK that supports FAT32. Fdisk examples Fdisk Open the fdisk option screen that you can see in the fdisk simulation. Note: If any partition is deleted everything within that partition will be erased. See the for additional information and examples. Additional information Fdisk script file - Fdisk has the capability of being run from an external file, allowing you to quickly create and delete partitions through fdisk. To do this, create a file from the DOS command. Below are the steps required in generating this file. Edit fdisk.scr - In the edit screen enter the commands you want to be run in fdisk. For example, if you want to run fdisk and display the partition information, you would enter 4. Because fdisk requires you to press enter after a selection, press Ctrl+P and then press Ctrl+M to create a music symbol, which acts as a carriage return. If you need to press the esc key, you would use Ctrl+P and then press esc, which would be represented as a backwards arrow. When doing the commands to run FDISK, all these must be on one line; do not place each command on separate lines. Once you have created the script file, you can then type fdisk. Since mid April of this year, one of my favorite DOS programs has gone open source on github. A re-director link will take you there from aefdisk.com. Only trouble now is that the only version of this program that supports large FAT32 /nolimit switch (>137 GB) is the open source one and it's zip file doesn't include the executable, just source code for it. 'Needs Borland C compiler/linker for DOS' which I never learned how to do. I do have Borland C++ 4.5 installation CD, will this get me there? Aefdisk.exe problems include high CPU usage, application errors, and possible virus infection. Here are the top five most common Aefdisk.exe problems and how to fix them. I don't even know this much about compiling PC code, my 'code' expertise begins and ends with the atari 8-bit. Anybody who knows how might go ahead and do that for the unwashed masses here? Provided this request meets with moderators approval in the first place. A yes or no nod would be most appreciated first as I truly intend to affront no one. But especially the moderators. TIA one and all. Thanks for that anyway, it really does help as I'm stumbling along pretty good considering my entry level knowledge here. 4.5 is a no go as it lacks TASM, so downloaded 3 something package. I'm getting four errors, two of which are the include files which I'll just cut and paste into the.asm file, if that sort of end around will suffice. What it doesn't seem to understand is a couple of label lines. MBRloader label - this is an error where dataend label - isn't WTH??? And then this is the other error that makes no sense to me right off: wildcard? Db 0; if HD number is '*' and right in the middle of a bunch just like it - I have no idea why that one could be wrong. I'll keep plodding along though, perhaps a higer version of TASM is in order? I've checked for multiple label definitions and I can't find any, unless they happen to be reserved words I'm out of guesses for the moment. Maybe ten passes could be tried instead of 9? We have TASM for cross assembly to the atari 8-bit believe it or not, but I've never used it there either, I kinda doubt it's a borland product and the name is the only thing ripped off there. Yep, I was thinking the same thing many times, but i'm on the trail like a houndog now. It's 3.1 and it's out there, if you'll go to the org site after searching for 'Borland C++ 3.1'. So is 5.3 but it has version 3 TASM and if I used 5.3, TASM is going to be under the BC5 path. Makefile has borlandc as part of the path and I read about that connection in the 4.5 text files on my CD finally pertaining to proper upgrading which appears to be wholesale directory deletion until you get to 4.5 and then it's a file list to back up, do this, and do that. Like being tossed into the deep end of the pool to learn how to swim, I think the 4.1 version I got on the web has been stepped on and just doesn't work right. Kinda odd version 5.3 is still using version 3 TASM to me. It also has TASMX for Windows DOS box and from there they go to TASM32 but it can still build 16 bit code if you link it with TLINK, which also comes in 32 bit flavors if that is your bent. As to my problems with no TASM in 4.5, well that's because I installed the run from CD files which don't do the 16 bit stuff. Needed to navigate to the folder where CMD16.PAK is at and run that install executable and then I would have gotten TASM just like that. I see 5.3 is built exactly the same way too. And I might still do that after I clean house and put 3.1 on there all alone to do this with. Jeeze, if I can do this is there even a need to post it when done? Further info here for those stuck at too high a version: A) Installing over previous versions of Borland C++. As a general rule, it is not recommended that you install Borland C++ 4.52 over any version earlier than 4.51. It is recommended that you delete the Borland C++ directory tree (BORLANDC if you have Borland C++ 3.1, BC4 if you have Borland C++ 4.0, or BC45 if you have Borland C++ 4.5) prior to installing. In addition, you will need to delete the following files in the Windows directory (WINNT under NT, WIN95 under Windows 95): owl.ini, bcw.ini, borhelp.ini, openhelp.ini, winsight.ini, workshop.ini. If you are installing over Borland C++ 4.0 or greater, you need to backup the RTL BIDS and OWL.DLLs prior to deleting the directory tree. Otherwise, any applications which need to link these libraries at runtime will need to be rebuilt. If you are installing over a previous installation of Borland C++ 4.51 or 4.52, you need to delete the Group file for Borland C++ (Under Windows 3.1, this is WINDOWS BC45.GRP). The installation program cannot properly create this file if it already exists on your machine. I got that error prone 4.1 TASM in a version 5 bundle, and then found a better 5.3 bundle. Kinda curious what's in 4.5 now, but that will have to wait until after some sleep and some housecleaning. I didn't test it, so use with caution and check if the specific modified functions do the expected thing. The compiled code, at least, looks okay. The errors you saw aren't what I saw. The problems here were lines 2743, 2919, 2921. In the first, it didn't like having ES inside the brackets: okdoformat: cmp word ptr ES:[bx+1feh],0aa55hIn the other two it wanted the explicit addition of DWORD PTR: mov DWORD PTR es:[bootbuffer+offset freeclust-offset bootsec32],eaxBTW, some label names in the code include a question mark. A strange practice, and it's surprising TASM accepts it. I'm not sure what TASM version or settings the author used but it'd odd that it wouldn't compile as is. Maybe it's possible to use global settings through an INI file or an environment variable, and this wasn't included in the makefile? And I don't get TASM's version numbering. I downloaded something which the README calls v5.0, yet TASM.EXE is v4.1, same as the one I had before (though I didn't compare the EXE, can't do that right now). Edited July 30, 2015 by shae. Thanks Shae, I'll compare yours to mine as I had complete and super fast good results as soon as I cleared the other installations and put on the org based 3.1. Too easy, I couldn't believe it. During testing of mine, it does require the /nolimit switch to be in front of /pri:200000:c:1 switch to get a FAT32 first partition of 200 Gigs. Otherwise it resets the size to 127 Gig as per normal. My possible bad on advice for TASM32 as the documentation says it's primarily for creating 32 bit debug information and does not suggest it's use for 16 bit work at all. I had read somewhere that it can serve dual purpose 16 bit and 32 bit work, but I haven't seen that in the documentation yet, so better treat that as fringe advice at best. They do the question mark in atari cross assemblers and it does bug me too, but then so does the colon in label names which you just glided over as not much at all. I'll just have to get used to both it seems. I have 2744, 2920, and 2922 written down in front of me, and that due to a blank line I inserted to attempt to get around the label problem on line 16, I saw a similar label equate line not too far away and he had a blank line under it so I'm thinking maybe that's it. I didn't go back to correct it when I found out that wasn't the problem. I tried to use the makefile but 3.1 didn't want any part of it as one of the C++ installs I tried would use it. I just did TASM aefdisk and I had zero errors and an.obj file which I then did TLINK aefdisk with and there was aefdisk.exe pretty as you please and just that fast. One thing I did do different was to lauch Throttle 6 with autoexec.bat file to slow DOS mode down from 3 GHz - I've had that problem during the making of vmm32.vxd during 98 installs and forgot completely about the issue in earlier attempts. DOS was never meant to fly that fast methinks. Much better documentation with 4.5 and 5 versions of C++, reading about where you can make a big swap file expressly for the use of these 16 bit borland programs such that very large projects can be done in the limited memory environment DOS has. Since you didn't report problems with line 16, 43, 44, and 472, I'm thinking we lay them at the foot of the GigaHertz god for a sacrifice? Throttle may have eliminated those errors entirely to wind up with exactly the same problems you went in and corrected the code on, nice work, thanks for showing us what was wrong and the straight forward way to write code. Obviously 3.1 is buggy in that it allows such errors so no real need to keep it around. To the best of my knowledge they quit making 16 bit TASM at version 4 something, as I stated before one 5.3 package had version 3 in it, which makes me anxious to see what is in the 4.5 I have when I get around to installing it in the correct manner this time around. I can't believe the prices they want for this 4.5 CD - I got it as a throw away so many years ago I can't even remember when or how. So a bit later than the above, I have tested both mine and yours. Mine is bigger for some reason but it still works, just like yours does. There are other bugs with it though, it won't make a label on /formatfat:1:Drive_C command but will if the partition is. Is it TASM.EXE v3.1 that compiles it without modification? I wouldn't say it's buggy, since these aren't really code errors. If anything, v3.1 might be more lenient, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe v4 is in a strict mode by default, but can be switched somehow to the same relaxed mode as v3. TASM and TLINK versions don't have to go in tandem. TLINK is probably used with all other languages as well. A colon in a label isn't part of the name, it's what terminates a label name inside code parts. Otherwise it would try to interpret it as an opcode. TLINK's /x parameter just prevents the creation of a MAP file, so it's not important. You can use the MAP files to see why the EXEs from different versions of TASM or TLINK end up being a different size. Edited July 31, 2015 by shae. Drugwash- I thought I did try that angle with no joy, but a batch file would work much better and I'll try that, thanks. But IIRC, the switches come first followed by the filename (with NO extension) to be worked on for those following along at home. TASM 3.1 only needed 3 passes so m9 switch is overkill, the other switches are default modes anyway, again IIRC. What I did find odd was that when I went to verify the error codes from before, now they don't match. It's as if aefdisk.asm has grown by x amount of bytes in the middle to such an extent that the error lines with fixes are no more to be found at 2743, 2919, and 2921. The code with fixes are 20 something lines higher and the line numbers agreed upon by all three of us now contain lines that are NOT those that were fixed. So while I'm trying to figure that part out, I can't replicate it again. Just leaving even more confusion upon the growing heap of it I already gots. But following that angle on out a ways, it's easy to see that if in the process, some code snippet was replicated within the.asm file then it sure would stand to reason that the results would be bigger. His 20 Kb, mine 21 Kb. There also should have been warnings about duplicate labels I would think, but my thinker has had quite a workout lately and can no longer be relied upon. I'll let the dust settle some first and then plug away when I can. If I ever find the why of mine being larger and it's actually important, I'll drop back in and post about that, until then, I'll just use shae's version with lots of gratitude. Thanks, everybody. Here is the batch file I used to do a 750 Gig SATA drive with, wound up with a 195 gig NTFS partition in fourth place. Halfway wanting to dual boot this with 98 on the second, but not sure I can locate all the drivers I need for the HP dc7600 it's going to live in. Need 98 SATA support to start with. XP on drive C. Aefdisk 2 /show pause aefdisk 2 /delall /show pause aefdisk 2 /nolimit /pri:200000:c:1 /show pause aefdisk 2 /pri:20000:c:2 /show pause aefdisk 2 /nolimit /pri:300000:c:3 /show pause aefdisk 2 /pri:0:7:4 /show pause aefdisk 2 /deactivate /show pause aefdisk 2 /activate:1 /show pause aefdisk 2 /nolimit /formatfat:1:Drive_C /show pause aefdisk 2 /formatfat:2:Drive_D /show pause aefdisk 2 /nolimit /formatfat:3:Drive_E /show pause As per previous report, only Drive_D is labeled as DRIVE_D. /show works here just fine, but not with /label:#:name command. Didn't test it with /show first but that may work after all even though /show is listed as a command and not a 'goes first' switch. /nolimit switch made no difference on /formatfat commands, I have them here just to show I tried it, I tried it both ways - still no drive label under /formatfat command when partition is >137 Gig. End of the day, I'll set it up differently than above due to active partition flag issue. Have to delete the first slot partition after the second is installed, then do /mbr on it after formatting it. Then redo the first slot and finish with the last two slots, then deactivate all, then activate 1 and 2 slots and it should boot the second partition after XP installs it's boot manager in slot 1 which I then mangle with DOS mode debug script to give me a choice menu at boot up that includes 98 on drive D. Then instead of installing 98 to C: Windows as per usual, I enter instead D: Windows and 98 does just that and loves it. That's the plan anyway. /mbr operation being essential to the linking of boot sector to future home of 48 bit LBA aware io.sys. /mbr operation is not steerable (why not?) and must have an active partition flag or the linking doesn't take place. No link, no boot. I wouldn't say it's buggy, since these aren't really code errors. If anything, v3.1 might be more lenient, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe v4 is in a strict mode by default, but can be switched somehow to the same relaxed mode as v3.I'm with you, but I had an.asm file stepped on right in the area of said not really code errors. Mighty fishy to me, I'll revist this issue for sure before hollering wolf, but I'm packing ammo just the same. 2nd time around I'll be looking for size changes in.asm files too. I could have looked the first time it happened, but the concept of it hadn't dawned on me until after I had cleaned the slate. A colon in a label isn't part of the name, it's what terminates a label name inside code parts. Otherwise it would try to interpret it as an opcode.Oh, boy. A long time ago this Rockwell outfit published a 10 pound manual on what was what and how all 6502 assemblers in the future were to behave in ALL such manners as you explain to avoid such discussions as this one, and no one has listened to the word of that particular God ever since. Long story short, it is what it is. I can see how the colon could be essential for that on these processors, but in 6502 work it is part of the label name as it's shown to be so in the cross reference essentially just cluttering things up there. The delimiter for labels there is first space character, op code then is any line starting with a space or a space after a label. Really hard to debug this kind of source so sometimes it's two spaces required, but not always and round we go again. This ride just does not stop. Because each of these quirks can be made to be darn handy and very useful in very clever ways. Tom8toe, tom-auto. You guys need it for that purpose, I can see that much already, nice to finally know this one at least has a genuine source of need. Your camp may have inherited the question mark from us where it used to be a non-cross referenced short branch label separated by.LOCAL regions for question mark reuse (???? Vs??????) since we can't do long branches anyway - but that's a really stupid and confusing idea all by itself. We can still do that, but I've never seen source written in the last 30 years that actually does it. Evolving madness. The real excuse for it at least in our camp is pandering to lazy typists. Someone's 'must have' idea that really wasn't so much needed. I don't think code anywhere was ever written with such blinding speed and ugency as to miss the spacebar by one tap where two were needed. A pipe dream to write usable, bug-free code at speeds the lousiest keyboard can't keep up with. TLINK's /x parameter just prevents the creation of a MAP file, so it's not important. You can use the MAP files to see why the EXEs from different versions of TASM or TLINK end up being a different size.Well that's why I found one of those files then. I looked at it this stranger with a familar first name, but that's all I can really remember about the encounter. Now that I know what it's for, that will start to help a little, thanks. The stepped on.asm file may have been a result from the previous attempt where I wasn't throttling the CPU too, hazy confusion is also a factor - I shall endeavor to duplicate using this trick too. It's wicked evil when DOS mode does this at 3 GHz, that much I do know. And then I could forget all about that part?? I'll blame it all on no speed limit for the moment and see how easy it is to repeat those results. I know I stepped in it pretty fast, safe bet I can do it again. Thanks a lot guys, I wouldn't be at this point without you, but I have a few days lost to catch up on now. I thought I did try that angle with no joy, but a batch file would work much better and I'll try that, thanks. But IIRC, the switches come first followed by the filename (with NO extension) to be worked on for those following along at home. TASM 3.1 only needed 3 passes so m9 switch is overkill, the other switches are default modes anyway, again IIRC. You're welcome. I had already forgotten how to compile ASM but luckily remembered about the old WLL project so I looked through its files and found the batches. I never managed to work with a makefile for some reason, maybe VC6 interferes or I'm not as bright as I thought. Indeed, the switches come first and filename last, at least that's how I found them in my old batches. In my reply above I had just copy/pasted from shae's comment. It's possible that some compiler+linker combination accepts the other syntax too, though. Haven't tried that. Actually I'm not much into ASM lately, got my plate full of other things. Was just trying to help a bit. As for the rest of your project I'm not sure 98 will be happy being installed on drive D. I'm not even sure that will be possible. Anyway, if you first install 98 and then XP, the latter will ask to replace or preserve previous Windows version, so if you choose to preserve 98 you should get a boot menu to choose between 98 and XP. Well, at least in theory - haven't done multiboot in a very long time. There are topics about that around, I'm sure you'll find all the necessary info. For the 98 SATA driver you may either set the SATA interface in legacy mode in BIOS (which may slow down the drive operations) or purchase the SATA driver/patch (can't remember which is what) from Mr. Rudolph Loew (find him on these boards). I believe there are topics on that subject too. Good luck with your project! One turn deserves another back - you can have makefile work for you too. Get the 3.1 from the org site and install it. Replace TASM file with 4.1 version like I did and you are set. Just type in MAKE, which will then launch and load MAKEFILE and run from it launching both TASM and TLINK - boom ya done. I couldn't get that to work with any other installation of C++ either. I did have to modify the last two lines of the MAKEFILE for aefdisk though since they tell the system to delete *.obj and aefdisk.exe. I kinda wanted to keep those around long enough to use them!! This version is where the 5.1 TLINK is from that wants a DPMI manager and apparently it's in here as it doesn't complain about not having that anymore. Read more about XP install first and then 98 after here I know it's backwards to the normal way to do dual boot with XP, but my network printer can only install from Drive C and XP wants to run the network, so my hands are kinda tied there. 98 will have to live on another drive. Loew has already sold me the memory patch, I was thinking the SATA driver was from another source but will look around and find out, thanks. I'm writing this on a Dell Dimension 2400 dual boot XP/98 box right now - it's where I do the TASM stuff. It's PATA so no extra drivers needed there, the HP is SATA and has no emulation for PATA so it must be a genuine SATA driver system for 98 or it can't be done. Insane part is that it has a PATA CDROM drive on secondary IDE channel, but one can not ever have a slave drive on this cable, it won't work, can't work. It already is SATA/PATA half and half except it's topped out at three drives. They spend all their profits castrating these machines so we can't live without them. Dell AND HP AND Xerox. So I have this dual boot XP/98 system where metapad v2 says the line with the first error in aefdisk.asm file is at 2756 and when you run the same metapad v2 in XP instead of 98, it correctly says the line is 2743. What is going on here? Is this the only troubles I've ever had? Is there some ansi 98 thingy that I didn't install that would make it do these kinds of horrible things in 9x and fly straight with XP? I can't even remember what my problem was at this point. I am able to compile aefdisk at full throttle and I wind up with a file of the exact same size but with one byte different. Comparing files C: TC His AEFDISK.EXE and C: TC My9 AEFDISK.EXE 0000001F: 71 50 I don't think this makes a critical difference at all. This is with TASM 4.1 and TLINK 5.1. With version 3 TASM no errors with orginal asm file, but some dozen different bytes scattered throughout. With 3.1 I get: *Warning* aefdisk.ASM(2743) ':' operator ignored So DOS can count lines correctly - why can't metapad? This file also same size with the exact same dozen or so differences throughout. I'll use 4.1 with the 3.1 org package that has a working MAKEFILE system. At full throttle. What do I do about metapad? That seriously bent my brain. We're working with Python novices, and had to help a few through exactly what you're asking! Command-line Python in Windows: • Save your python code file somewhere, using 'Save' or 'Save as' in your editor. Lets call it 'first.py' in some folder, like 'pyscripts' that you make on your Desktop. • Open a prompt (a Windows 'cmd' shell that is a text interface into the computer): start > run > 'cmd' (in the little box). • Navigate to where your python file is, using the commands 'cd' (change directory) and 'dir' (to show files in the directory, to verify your head). For our example something like, > cd C: Documents and Settings Gregg Desktop pyscripts • try: > python first.py If you get this message: 'python' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Then python (the interpreter program that can translate Python into 'computer instructions') isn't on your path (see Putting Python in Your Path below). Then try calling it like this (assuming Python2.6, installed in the usual location): > C: Python26 python.exe first.py (Advanced users: instead of first.py, you could write out first.py's full path of C: Documents and Settings Gregg Desktop pyscripts first.py) Putting Python In Your Path Windows In order to run programs, your operating system looks in various places, and tries to match the name of the program / command you typed with some programs along the way. In windows: control panel > system > advanced >|Environmental Variables| > system variables -> Path this needs to include: C: Python26; (or equivalent). If you put it at the front, it will be the first place looked. You can also add it at the end, which is possibly saner. Then restart your prompt, and try typing 'python'. If it all worked, you should get a '>>>' prompt. In IDLE press F5 You can open your.py file with IDLE and press F5 to run it. You can open that same file with other editor ( like Komodo as you said ) save it and press F5 again; F5 works with IDLE ( even when the editing is done with another tool ). If you want to run it directly from Komodo according to this article: you have to: • go to Toolbox -> Add -> New Command. • in the top field enter the name 'Run Python file' • in the 'Command' field enter this text:%(python)%F 3.a optionall click on the 'Key Binding' tab and assign a key command to this command • click Ok. What I just did, to open a simple python script by double clicking. Aug 23, 2016. Komodo Edit - A free, multi-language editor that makes it easy to write quality code. I just added a batch file to the directory containing the script: @echo off python exercise.py pause>nul (I have the python executable on my system path. If not one would need include its complete path of course.) Then I just can double click on the batch file to run the script. The third line keeps the cmd window from being dismissed as soon as the script ends, so you can see the results.:) When you're done just close the command window. The total yardage is 1544 yards from the men's tees. Blackberry Farm is set along the bank of Stevens Creek with narrow tree lined fairways and small greens. Accuracy will be needed to. Tight little par 3 course with 2 short par 4's (par 29). Very small greens that were in great shape. Backup when we tee'd off the guy at the desk said go start on 5 and come around was perfect. Paid 1/2 price using Golfnow. Great little course for after work was done in 90 minutes. For Par 3 Golf II on the BlackBerry, GameFAQs has game information and a community message board for game discussion. Played @ BBFarm GC today & I had a great 1st time at the course! My Summary & Ideas on this 9-Hole getaway in Cupertino, CA: Conveniently located right off a main passageway in Cupertino [Stevens Creek], Convenient distance from major freeways, Sunnyvale/San Jose/Mountain View/SJC Airport. Pro Shop is well-stocked with both equipment & refreshments. Was able to snag the great Hot Deal rate near 2:30PM on a Saturday [8/26/17], Was a little crowded & busy with groups waiting to play. Staff was kind & courteous, Especially when letting myself & my playing partner tee-off as a group of 2, when the other group of 2 didn't show up in time. [Note: Rankings have been updated September 12, 2011 with feedback from an expert panel of a dozen fellow Chicago golf addicts.] We've played them all. The 9-hole 'Blackberry Farm' course at the Blackberry Farm Golf Course facility in Cupertino, California features 1,571 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 29. The course rating is 30.0 and it has a slope rating of 83 on Blue grass. Designed by Robert Muir Graves, ASGCA, the Blackberry Farm golf course opened. Small putting green & 'batting cage' type of structure for swing warm-ups. As for the course itself, I found it to generally well-kept on both fairways & greens; With tee box conditions being left with a little more to desire. A sneakily challenging mix of shorter & longer Par 3's & a couple of Par 4's that allow Driver play [For the more experienced golfers, I think the course will at least make You ponder a very good amount of your shots.!!!:)] Narrow fairways & green sand traps keep you playing honest & focused on accuracy & consistency. Greens aren't the smallest, & not the biggest, But still demand accuracy & care to knock it close. I found the greens' slope to be lively on some holes, with a good mix of uphill/downhill looks; Fairly well-kept greens, fairly consistent ball roll. & As with most 9 Hole courses, definitely a great place to practice your Short/Recovery game, & a great place for Beginners/Youth. [Didn't get to check out the 19th Hole features, but will definitely add to the review when/if I ever get the chance to check it out.] I'm a local; Was very satisfied with my experience! Will definitely be back & will certainly add Blackberry GC in Cupertino to my list for a quick golf round & a challenging practice round in my area. This course is well maintained, with nice fairways, greens, and teeboxes. It's a relatively simple course, as being so short there's only so many 'features' you can have. Every hole is pretty much straightforward. Only thing I didn't like was that the greens are the size of postage stamps so approach shots were tough. But that's more personal preference and not a condemnation of the course itself. The scenery is great as it's completely surrounded by nice, tall trees so you get a very nature-y feeling a little bit away from the city atmosphere. Overall, it's a nice, relaxing course and pretty well taken care of. We were a 3some, matched with a single golfer that was very slow and could not golf at all. There was no introduction of the addition. He slowed everyone down, our team and the team behind us were often stood and watched him taking a while to place a tee in the ground and then the ball on the tee, but there was no marshall to help with the situation. The 9-hole game took us almost 3 hours when it is usually 1.5 hour game. It would be a big improvement if there could be a easy way to report to this situation to staff. It’s kind of like when you’re a referee or an umpire. If people are talking about you, it usually means you did something wrong.” There seems to be a certain stereotype about managers – that they’re just water boys, ball boys and the guys who mop up sweat. As junior manager Anthony Madle explains, the job is much deeper than outsiders seem to believe. True Basketball Manager is a new text-based basketball PC game. True Basketball Manager is a new text-based basketball PC game. Head a professional basketball team to lead it to the champion. “Yeah, we do the dirty work. But there’s none of that ‘Go car- ry my shoes’ stigma. We’re friends with the players. They really do respect us, and the coaches do, too. They appreciate what we do.” Madle and the eight other managers typically arrive at the gym around 7:30 a.m. To prepare the floor, the balls, the uniforms and anything else asked of them. Those tasks are nothing to these guys. If you assumed laundry is arduous, too, you are wrong. “When we were on the road and in hotels, we’re doing it there,” Satz said. “We’re hauling seven bags of laundry to different hotels if our own didn’t have what we needed. Some of my best memories are just roaming around in cities trying to find a place to do our laundry.” One duty in particular is extremely tough, though. “Stop the f****** clock!” Head coach Kevin Willard has been known to shout at the crew when the time-keeping is off, per Satz. After getting spared from the clock his freshman year, sophomore Tom Kiely knows this all too well. “It’s pretty serious. Each drill, or section, has a different amount of time coach wants to spend on it. We’ll get a [printed] plan, but things happen and he’ll spend more time on this and less on that. It’s confusing to keep it how he wants. If you put 15 minutes up and he wants 10, he’ll start screaming.” Madle admitted that this was terrifying at first. It doesn’t faze him. “If we mess up, he’ll let us know,” he said of Willard. “But he’s cool after. He handles it right with us.” Satz said that like players, managers are expected to show up at the practice gym ready to work. When the clock is not wrong, the managers feel they can pal around with Willard. “The more you show up, and the more he sees you, the more comfortable he is with you,” Madle said. “He has nicknames for all of us.” Junior Mark Maloney Jr. Has about 10 monikers. “Too many to count,” he chuckled. Madle goes by “Spicoli,” a nod to Sean Penn’s long-locked blonde character in. Fast Times at Ridgemont High. In addition to Willard and the coaching staff, managers have a unique lens when it comes to the players, too. “It’s weird when people walk around talking about the players like they’re famous,” Kiely said. “It’s just like, ‘That’s the guy who lives next door to me,’ or ‘I just beat this kid one on one.’” For Maloney, that closeness to the program is what he cherishes most about the job. “You watch all these teams on TV when you’re younger or in high school, and then you come in to be a manager and you get to experience what’s it like. It’s al- most surreal.” To take that experience a step further, Madle feels a special sense of pride through the team’s per- formance. “You’re with the guys as indi- viduals. You see the work they put into it. It’s more gratifying for us when they win than the normal student. A big thing I enjoy, and we’ve all talked about this before, is seeing the development. See- ing a player like [Ismael Sanogo] – how much better he got. And knowing we helpedthat’s cool. He’s always bugging us to stay after practice, trying to get extra shots.” Rebounding for players is com- mon, even outside of normal practice hours. Junior manager Jared Gaspar said that while walking around campus, his phone is always buzzing with texts asking for extra shots. “And if we’re around, we go. That’s a part of it.” All four managers pointed to freshman forward Veer Singh as the biggest gym rat. And the biggest pest. “One more?” Singh always asks them. That singular shot often turns into double-digits. When they’re not rebounding, the managers could actually be playing dummy defense in prac- tice. When SHU’s starting five took the floor against the managers at Seton Hall Media Day on Oct. 29, it looked like the Monstars against the Looney Tunes. But there was no laughing, no joking around. The whistle was blown, and the managers shuffled in the paint as the Pirates whipped the ball around on the perimeter. It was a simple shell passing drill, but still felt peculiar to watch. “Nobody is telling you ‘I don’t want Isaiah Whitehead to score,’” Satz said. “You’re not asked to shut him down. That’s not your goal. But there is an expectation that you have an understanding of the drill, where you need to be and when you need to be there.” Elite players want a certain level of resistance. They don’t want their defenders laying down. They want to get better. Sometimes, that doesn’t go well for managers. “I’m missing one of my teeth because they threw me out there one day,” Satz said. As a manager, “you’re treated like a Division I athlete,” Maloney said. Maloney, Madle, Kiely or Gaspar have never lost a tooth, but all four of them understand that the job calls for sacrifices. Managers are unpaid, but they do have the opportunity to earn scholarships. There is no application process to join – it’s all about reaching out and being proactive. Similarly, there is no clear-cut path to earning a scholarship. “It’s understood that if you put the work in, you’ll earn it,” Maloney said. Players are, however, given meal money on breaks, as well as free food on the road. “That’s the best part,” Kiely said, which made his three fellow managers laugh in agreement. Managers miss few classes, but are excused when traveling on the road. Kiely wants to get into coaching himself. Over the summer, he and Madle worked as counselors at a youth camp for Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Madle wants to apply his coaching and managing experience to a community relations job, preferably with an NBA team. Maloney is striving to break into the business side of sports. Gaspar wants to work with finances. There are different paths to take, for sure. But setting up ball racks, cleaning floors, rebounding “one more” for Singh, doing laundry, getting yelled at over the clock – it will all be helpful in the end, Satz believes. “For someone who would never have had the opportunity to experience athletics at a Division I level, it’s life-changing. It really is. I wouldn’t be here in this seat if I didn’t get that opportunity. I’m very grateful for that.” Tom Duffy can be reached at [email protected] or on Twitter @TJDHoops. West's intertwined brilliance and agony were always his blessing and curse, moving even the hated Boston Celtics. Credit Dick Raphael/Getty Images LOS ANGELES — For Jerry West, silhouetted on the N.B.A. Logo, cast in bronze at the Staples Center and enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame, his legacy was never the problem. His life was. Still pursued by his demons at 73, he reintroduces himself as flesh, blood and anguish in his new autobiography, “West by West: My Charmed, Tormented Life” (Little, Brown & Company), going past the point where the cheers fade and sports books end to pose a question that rarely comes up: What is it all worth? “There were two, three times when we started this, when I said, ‘I’m not doing this,’ ” West said in a recent interview as he talked about his agreement to do the book. It’s not made up. I’m hoping the book will be inspirational because you can overcome a lot of things in life and do something that makes you feel good — for a moment, maybe not for a whole long time.” That’s West in one sentence, trying, but only qualifiedly able, to commit to a happy ending. He’s an object lesson in the price of success, if not one of the starry-eyed ones usually passed down to children. Even the hated Boston Celtics, who lived to rule and make sure opponents understood it, beating West’s Los Angeles Lakers in six N.B.A. Finals in the 1960s, were moved by his ordeal. Stunning West in a surprise appearance on Jerry West Night in March 1971, Bill Russell walked onto the Forum floor, where he and his Celtics had made their successful last stand in Game 7 of the 1969 finals under the Lakers owner Jack Kent Cooke’s presumptuous balloons. “If I could have one wish granted,” Russell told West, “it would be that you would always be happy.” Like anyone, West in the book remembers things his way (he says hiring Phil Jackson as coach was his idea; Shaquille O’Neal says it was his). Like few others, West shreds, or at least, candidly describes everyone from his physically abusive father (“I told him that he’d better never lay another hand on me and reminded him that I had a shotgun under my bed and would damn well use it if I had to”) to Jackson (“I don’t think he wanted me around”) to West’s adoring wife, Karen (“who loves, cares for and nurtures a very complicated man”). Of course, West, being West, is hardest on West. His infidelity to his first wife, Jane, is in the book. So is Jane’s fury at learning he is dating Karen while they divorce. West describes Jane driving to Pat Riley’s home, which he has been renting, and dumping West’s trophies, pictures and mementos in the driveway. When Riley, who was playing in Phoenix, returns, West tells him to throw it all out. “I kept it for a long time in an attic,” Riley tells the book’s author, Jonathan Coleman. “Now I think it is in one of the storage bins I have here in Miami. One day, I have to go down there and look at it. He might like it.” The books plumbs the depths of West’s despair, publishing the 1999 letter Karen writes to the Lakers owner Jerry Buss, who has finally let West, deep into his second decade as general manager, waive Dennis Rodman. West, being West, is hardest on West in his autobiography. Credit Lisa Blumenfeld/Getty Images “Wednesday, Jerry told me that the only things he cares about in the world are our children and the Lakers. On Thursday evening, after the Rodman release, he told me that he was leaving the Lakers and he was leaving us. I think that you and he need to sit down together for a long, friendly talk. Just thought you should know. Sincerely, Karen.” West was a front-office icon — his Utah counterpart, Scott Layden, once said they should name the executive of the year award after him — and he turned Lakers fortunes around within five years of Magic Johnson’s 1991 retirement when he acquired O’Neal and Kobe Bryant within seven days of each other. Buss, meanwhile, never lost his admiration of West, but eventually he was no longer just a phone call away. Detaching himself from the day-to-day operation in the post-Magic era, the owner told his high-maintenance general manager he could reach him through the Lakers’ lawyer. And Buss began grooming his son, Jim, to take over. Showing how much he did not know, the son told Sports Illustrated that “” could rate players as well as N.B.A. In 2000, with the resurgent Lakers having won the first of three titles in a row under Jackson, West abruptly resigned, walking away from three years and $10.5 million on his contract and skipping the team’s news conference that announced the move. Having won one ring as a player and four more as general manager, the man most identified with the Lakers franchise slipped away like a journeyman on the waiver wire. After a five-year comeback in Memphis, taking the lowly Grizzlies to successive finishes from 2004 to 2006 in which they won 50, 45 and 49 games, West has just come out of retirement again, accepting a $2 million-a-year consultancy that includes an ownership stake — not with the Lakers but with their downtrodden rivals, the Golden State Warriors. West, whose unvarnished scouting report last winter foreshadowed the Lakers’ fall in the spring (“You can keep a car running for a long time by changing the tires. But you can’t change a player’s tires”), says that as a Warrior executive, he can no longer discuss another team or its players, like Bryant, his onetime rapt pupil. In 2004, Bryant began rethinking his intention of signing with the Los Angeles Clippers after calling West, who told him not to assume he could change things anywhere he went and noted his own pride in having played for one team. Bryant refused to be interviewed for West’s book — possibly at the agent Rob Pelinka’s direction, West writes — although it is well known that no one calls shots for Bryant. Advertisement In his recent interview about the book, West said he still treasured his relationship with Jerry Buss, lamenting the fact it “just wasn’t the same” in their final years together. “But every time I have to make a decision in my life, who’s the first person I call?” West said. “It’s him.” He added that “it would have been flattering” if the Lakers had asked him if he wanted to return as a consultant, “but they didn’t need me and I really wasn’t wanted there.” “But that’s O.K. Because I understand that,” he added. “ I’m not a shrinking violet. I would give my opinion and probably be a lot more aggressive than they have been. But that’s my nature.” “Jim’s bright, O.K.?” he went on in a reference to Buss’s son. “I think everyone assumed I did not like him. That’s far from being true. You’d like him around more often but he wasn’t around very often.” All of this is not old-school. They didn’t make them like this back then, either. It is just Jerry West, after all these years, trying to make it work. Encounter problems when trying to remove PIMAssistant from your PC? We may have what you need here If you are a common users, program removal should be one of the operations you mostly need to perform. The first thing I shall mention is that incorrect steps would cause unexpected troubles that may take you much more time to solve, so it’s definitely wise to get some extra help when you feel like you’ve lost your way. Briefly speaking, you’ll need to complete the removal by going through 3 parts: • - Make sure nothing related to PIMAssistant is running. • - Uninstall the PIMAssistant program via the Windows built-in tool. • - Delete the remaining files, which can be found in the Windows Registry. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation while performing the removal, just type the password or provide confirmation. In the rest of the page I’ll explain specifically how to remove PIMAssistant on PC, hopefully it can be useful to you and other visitors in need. Optional steps to do before a smooth removal For some reasons you may fail to remove PIMAssistant, for example, you didn’t completely shut down the program that is running in the background, or the related processes are still working, which may stop the uninstall wizard in the middle of the removal or even prevent you from starting doing it. Here are measures you can take before a smooth removal: • Check the System Tray in the bottom-right corner of your screen, if you see the icon of PIMAssistant, right-click it and select Quit/Exit/Close to shut down the program. • Right-click on the taskbar, select Task Manager, in the Processes tab, select the processes related to PIMAssistant, and click End Task below. In some cases the program and everything related to it will automatically close once the removal is activated, so you can say the above measures are not essentially necessary. But you’re still suggested doing that especially when it’s an antivirus software you’re trying to remove. Back up the Registry in case anything went wrong during the removal For precaution, you should always have backups of the registry while undertaking repairs, performing tweaks in Windows, or deleting something from the Registry Editor. Check for other possible leftovers to delete by searching “PIMAssistant” or the name of its publisher. • 6. If you haven’t restarted the PC yet, restart it now.
